Installing a Pet Door Yourself
Living in Brisbane is as active and exciting as you want it to be. With gorgeous blue skies and many walking trails available, it is hard to stay home with so much to see and do. However, you can’t always take Max along, so having a reliable pet door at home is simply a must. Even if your home does not come with a ready-made pet entrance, you can opt for DIY pet doors installation in Brisbane. Go and enjoy the city, without worrying about your pet’s access to the outdoors while you are away.
Installing the Door
Many pet doors come with a template that the installer can use for placement. Position and tape the template where the pet door installation will go. It should be approximately 10cm from the floor for a small dog. With a pencil trace the template on to the timber door. Now remove the template. With a pencil, mark the four corners of the template with small x marks. These are drilling guides.
Using a 12mm drill bit, drill holes in each X. If the pet door installation requires screws, use a 3mm inch drill bit. With a jigsaw, cut out the opening, starting at one of the drilled holes. Follow the pencil line and cut out the entire door. This is how to begin a pet door installation. Brisbane is a pet-friendly city, but do follow all current pet laws, including leash laws.
