House Cleaning Tips for Pet Owners

Keeping your home clean takes time and dedication. Sometimes fighting off just the dust is a chore all its own. When you have one or more pets, your chores can easily double. A few simple tips can decrease the time spent cleaning the house so you can spend more time having fun with your pet(s) and loved ones. Taking the time to do something like installing a doggie door could be the key.

  • Install a doggie door. When your pet doesn’t have to wait for you to open the door, the chances of an “accident” decrease dramatically, so you have nothing to clean up.
  • Buy a pet vacuum. Vacuums made for pet owners do a great job of cleaning up pet hair with the rest of debris in your home.
  • Brush coats outside. By frequently brushing your dog’s coat, you can eliminate a lot of the shedding that is going on inside the home. This also gives you some extra bonding time with your dog in a relaxing atmosphere. This means your dog will behave better and may even stop doing things like chewing up paper and other nervous habits that bored and lonely dogs develop.

You love your pets, so you want them to be happy. When you have to constantly clean up after them, you become frustrated and don’t have as much patience as you should. Your pet responds to this with nervous habits that create messes and lead to more frustration. Take the steps to stop this cycle and create a happy, healthy home for you and your pet.
